After India, now Russia is also going to bring new laws regarding micro-blogging sites. Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new IT Act.

After the implementation of this law, all social media companies including Google, Facebook and Twitter will have to open their offices in Russia.

This information has been received from a document issued by the Russian government. It is being said that the Putin government is bringing a new IT Act to stop the arbitrariness of micro-blogging sites.

For your information, let us tell you that Russia has been trying to reduce its dependence on foreign IT companies for some time and the new law is a part of that.

Just a few days ago, Russia declared some online content illegal and fined tech and social media companies for not deleting it.

Russia had also decided to reduce the speed of American micro-blogging site Twitter as a punishment. Recently Russia has started a new case against Google.

Let us inform you that the Government of India has implemented a new IT Act from 26 May, under which social media companies have to deploy a Grievance Redressal Officer and Nodal Officer in India and within India itself.

Apart from this, if there is a complaint regarding any content, every micro-blogging site will have to be removed within 24 hours, and every month the government has to report the complaints.
