News of the dispute
between the micro-blogging site Twitter and the Indian government is
currently widely circulated. Several cases have been filed in
the Supreme Court. Even the account of the law minister of India was closed for
a while.
The Government of
India has recently implemented the new IT Act, on which there were a lot
of controversies. Legal protection has also been withdrawn from the micro-blogging
site Twitter due to non-compliance with new IT rules in time, after which

Russia is also going to bring new laws regarding micro-blogging sites.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a new IT Act.
After the
implementation of this law, all social media companies including Google,
Facebook and Twitter will have to open their offices in Russia.
This information has
been received from a document issued by the Russian government. It is being
said that the Putin government is bringing a new IT Act to stop the
arbitrariness of micro-blogging sites.
For your information,
let us tell you that Russia has been trying to reduce its dependence on foreign
IT companies for some time and the new law is a part of that.
Just a few days ago,
Russia declared some online content illegal and fined tech and social media
companies for not deleting it.
Russia had also
decided to reduce the speed of American micro-blogging site Twitter as a
punishment. Recently Russia has started a new case against Google.
Let us inform you that
the Government of India has implemented a new IT Act from 26 May, under
which social media companies have to deploy a Grievance Redressal Officer and
Nodal Officer in India and within India itself.
Apart from this, if
there is a complaint regarding any content, every micro-blogging site
will have to be removed within 24 hours, and every month the government has to
report the complaints.
