The government of India launched the Matsya Setu app, which will provide online self-learning modules.

 

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Mr. Giriraj Singh on Wednesday launched Matsya Setu mobile app for fish farming farmers.

Matsya Setu mobile app will provide online self-learning modules to learn about different species. Also, on this platform, experts will give basic information on fish breeding, seed production, and grow-out culture.

Apart from this, fish farming farmers will be taught through short videos in the app to maintain the quality of soil and water, better management, follow food and health management in aquaculture operations.

In Matsya Setu, mobile app farmers will be given an e-certificate on completion of each course module. Apart from this, farmers can ask questions to experts through this app.

Union Minister Mr. Giriraj Singh has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in September 2020 to develop the fisheries sector with an investment of Rs.20050 crore.

Achieving the ambitious targets of an additional 7 million tonnes of fish production under PMSY, Rs 1 lakh crore fish exports, 55 lakh employment generation in the next five years, etc. requires multi-pronged strategies with collaborative and concerted efforts between the government and stakeholders.

Mr. Singh has further said that Matsya Setu mobile app will be of great use to the farmers. Through this app, he will be able to understand better the new technology and this will lead to his development.

Let us tell you that the Central Government launched the Mera Ration mobile app in March to promote Digital India. This mobile app is available for Android users.

Sixty-nine crore ration cardholders of the country will benefit from this app. The government believes that people will benefit greatly from this mobile app.

Through this app, the beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act will be able to check for themselves how much food grains they will get.

Apart from this, through this app, people of needy, poor families will get complete information about the location of the nearby ration depot as well as the facilities available on the ration card.
