BSNL numbers will
remain active during lock down. BSNL prepaid users will not
require to make compulsory recharges until at least April 20. BSNL
prepaid users have been gifted by the Telecom Minister, Ministry
of Telecommunication. A balance of 10 rupees will also be given by the
government.
Crores of BSNL prepaid
SIM card users have received a gift from The Telecom Minister, Ministry of
Telecommunication. Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has
instructed to keep BSNL prepaid SIM cards of BSNL numbers
operational till April 20 without any recharge.
Not only this, a balance of Rs
10 will also be given as an incentive to these users with immediate effect. The
Telecom Minister, Ministry of Telecommunication has announced this due
to a nationwide lock down due to coronavirus.
The central government looks to
help millions of individuals, especially those associated with the economically
lower strata of society.
The move is specifically aimed
at helping members of India's working class who earn primarily on a daily wage
basis, and as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic, were left without a path to
income for the future.
This order will be applicable
for BSNL numbers of every telecom circle of BSNL prepaid. The
Union Minister said in his statement that this decision has been taken by the
government to keep people connected to their families till April 20.
Earlier, another public telecom companies were also instructed by TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority)
to increase the validity of prepaid users whose validity is expiring during the lock
down.
(Telecom Regulatory
Authority) TRAI asked Telecom operators (Jio, Vodafone-Idea and
Airtel) to ensure that users should continue to receive service uninterrupted
during the 21-day lock down. (Telecom Regulatory Authority) TRAI
has asked all the telecom companies to take appropriate steps for this on a priority basis.
According to the PTI report, (Telecom
Regulatory Authority of India) TRAI in its statement has instructed
all the telecom companies that users should not face any kind of
connectivity during lock down.
The Telecom Regulatory
Authority of India said that telecom is the essential service of the people
and said that people should not face any problem due to this. Telecom
operators took the necessary steps for this. However, there has been no
official reply from any Telecom operators following this directive from (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India)TRAI.
