Gmail New Update: The tech giant is preparing to give a new update to its most popular service Gmail, not just
limited to massage, with much more. Yes, Google is updating Gmail to include a
feature that allows users to make voice and video calls to their connections through the app.
The Gmail new update will allow direct voice and video calls to a contact via the Gmail mobile app. Note
that calls will be made through Google Meet in the Gmail app.
It is interesting to note that Google has decided to
bring this feature to the Gmail app instead of directly to Google. As The Verge
Note, Google is making Gmail the centerpiece of all the work-related
applications Google offers. In addition to sending or receiving email, it
allows users to manage private and group chats, video conferencing, and now voice and video calls.
For this, Gmail serves as an access point for chat,
space, and dating. Of course, applications also work individually, for those
who want a more dedicated interface. With that in mind, Google has promised to
bring the Google Meet voice and video calling feature in the future.
So far, the Google Meet tab under Gmail offers
users the option to start or join a virtual meeting. Going forward, the calling
contact feature will also be added under it after Gmail new update.
Users will then be able to make private voice and video calls to the same contacts through apps like
Google Duo or any other VoIP app like Skype.
In addition to the ability to make direct calls, Google
is redesigning Gmail with Gmail new update for Space and Google Calendar. The meet has a new
companion mode that lets you use conference room audio-visual hardware for
virtual meetings. Also, Google is expanding its MIT hardware ecosystem.
