Sarala Thakral was the Indian first female pilot. Sarala Thakral was born in 1914 in Delhi. Her husband was an airmail pilot. At the age of 21, Sarala Thakral made her debut in a small double-wing aircraft. He flew this plane alone. Since then he has been in the headlines.

Sarala Thakral got her license by flying a thousand hours at a flying club in Lahore. At the time, she was the first woman to receive a pilot's license. He then began training as a commercial pilot but had to stop training due to World War II.

After pilot training, Sarala Thakral studied fine arts and painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore. She then moved to Delhi, where she worked in jewelry design and clothing.

In this context, it is worth mentioning that Google had earlier created a special doodle for the birthday of Kadambini Ganguly, the Indian first female doctor. Kadambini Ganguly, the first female physician of the country, was born on 18 July 1861 in Bhagalpur.

In addition to being a freedom fighter, he received the title of doctor regardless of society. She was also the first co-founder of the Women's Rights Organization.

She was not only a pilot but also an excellent painter. Google says Sarala Thakral has set a great example for all women in the country. That’s why we dedicated Today's Google Doodle to her this year on the occasion of his 107th birthday.

Google also says, at just 21 years old, Sarala Thakral made her first solo journey by stepping into the cockpit of a small two-winged aircraft. As her plane touched the heights of the sky, she created a new history.

Inspired by her husband, Sarala Thakral started training to become a pilot. In 1936, when Sarala Thakral flew the plane for the first time, she was 21 years old. Sarala was the mother of a four-year-old girl at the time.

Sarala Thakral's husband Captain PD Sharma died in a plane crash in 1939. After the death of her husband, Sarala Thakral returned to India in 1947 after the partition of India and Pakistan.

She later remarried to RP Thakral. Staying here in Delhi, he continued his painting work and later made jewelry and costume designs. He died on March 15, 2008. Today's Google Doodle refreshes his memory.
