Whatsapp new privacy policy has been in the news for quite some time and
now it has reached the Supreme Court. Even users have started using other apps
except for Whatsapp.
In such a situation, the company is also trying to
prevent its users from moving to other apps and to remove the spreading
friction among people.
The company has now shared the plans made for the new
privacy policy on its blog. The blog states that 'We are working
hard to remove any friction associated with the new privacy policy.
What is WhatsApp's new privacy policy?
While sharing the information in its official blog,
Whatsapp has written that 'We are creating a new way to chat and chat on Whatsapp
as a reminder that will be completely optional.
Personal messages will be encrypted end to end as usual
and cannot be heard or read on WhatsApp.
Whatsapp has also told in the blog that 'in the coming weeks we
will show a banner on WhatsApp which will provide more information,
which can be read comfortably.
The banner will include more information to address
concerns that are spread among users. Eventually, the app will start reminding
people to use WhatsApp to review and accept these updates.
WhatsApp says that 'We have already seen people getting very confused about the new privacy policy and this time we will try our best to remove this confusion of the people.
We are going to provide such a service to the people in
which they will be able to review the new privacy policy on their own.
We also want to clarify that in this update, there is no
change in the personal privacy of the people, but rather the option
business feature.
The new privacy policy will impose on 15 May
Whatsapp was going to implement its privacy policy from 8
February but it was fiercely opposed. After which the company has extended its
date to May 15.
However, the company has only changed the date, while its
terms and conditions of the new privacy policy will remain the same.
