The Home Ministry of India has decided to allow e-commerce platforms in India like Amazon and Flipkart to start delivering smartphones and other non-essential items.

The Home Ministry of India has allowed the delivery of non-essential items on e-commerce platforms in India Amazon, Flipkart, Paytm Mall, etc. from May 4 with some conditions.
It is important to mention that these e-commerce platforms in India have been delivering only the essential goods at home for a long month and a half.
However, this permission is only for people living in the Orange and Green zones. At the same time, people living in the Red zone and Containment zones will have to wait till May 17 for this online service.
If you live in the Green zone or Orange zone, then you will be able to order smartphones and other non-essential items on the e-commerce platforms.
Let us tell you that the Central Government has extended the lockdown period till May 17. The Home Ministry of India has divided more than 700 districts in the country into the Red zone, Green zone, and Orange zone.
Of these, e-commerce platforms in India have allowed home delivery of non-essential items in the Green and Orange zones. At the same time, the online delivery of essential goods can be done in the Red zone, Orange zone, and Green zone.

However, customers in Mumbai and Delhi and Noida will have to wait till May 17, as they fall in the Red zone.
