Talal Hajj Berry and Tommy Misk, two developers have claimed that TikTok uses HTTP (insecure) instead of HTTPs to download any media file. This increases the high alert of the privacy of users and anyone can easily track your media file.

Hackers can share fake videos in any user's TikTok IDs by using or taking advantage of HTTP. Not only this, but hackers can also change short videos of users. Developers have said that hackers will also be able to tamper with the verified accounts.

On the other hand, if you talk about HTTPs, it is encrypted. Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is an extension of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). It is used for secure communication over a computer network. It is widely used on the Internet.

Developers have stated in their blog that many other social media companies, including Tik Tok, use outside servers. There are external server content delivery networks (CDNs). This server uses HTTP to transfer short videos that are unencrypted. It can be easily hacked. The developers said that not only the media file but also the user's profile photo can also be changed.

Developers have reported high alert that this bug came in Android version 15.7.4 and iOS version 15.5.6. Taking advantage of this TikTok bug, the developers have shared a fake video from the World Health Organization (WHO) account.
