BS4 vehicles will not sell after 31 March: Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has given an important order regarding the vehicles of the BS4 engine. According to the order, BS4 engine vehicles will no longer be sold after March 31.

If you have a BS4 engine car, then after 31 March your difficulties may increase. The Supreme Court has once again reiterated that BS4 vehicles will not be sold after March 31.

In fact, in the year 2018, the Supreme Court had banned the sale of BS4 vehicle. After this, automobile dealers filed a petition asking for additional time. The petition said that the court should give them time till April 30 so that they can sell BS4 vehicles kept in the stock.

Now the Supreme Court has rejected this petition and refused to grant relief. Explain that BS-4 rule came into force from April 2017 across the country. In 2016, the central government had announced that BS-6 rules would be implemented by 2020 without adopting BS-5 rules in the country.

What does this BS vehicle mean?

Whenever there is talk of a vehicle, the name 'BS' associated with it is also mentioned. Actually, BS means Bharat Stage. It is a standard that measures the pollution caused by the engine of vehicles in India.

The Government of India has set this standard. At the same time, the number (BS-3, BS-4, BS-5 or BS-6) is also displayed in front of BS. Increasing the number ahead of BS means better standards of emissions, which are right for the environment. If you understand in easy language, the larger the number is written in front of BS, the less pollution is expected from that vehicle.

BS-6 mandatory from 1 April

After the Supreme Court order, BS-6 has been made compulsory from April 1. Pollution from this standard car is expected to be extremely low. Keeping this in mind, now auto companies are launching BS-6 vehicles.

Finance Minister had extended the date of purchase and registration of BS4 vehicles till 31 March 2020, giving a big relief for the automobile sector. That is, the review of registration fees was deferred until June 2020.

The government had withdrawn the ban imposed by government departments on the purchase of new vehicles. BS-4 vehicles purchased till 31 March 2020 will be valid.

Recently, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a big relief for the automobile sector to achieve the highest growth of the economy. During that time, the date of purchase and registration of vehicles with BS-4 standard was extended.

She said that not only India but the big countries of the world are going through a bad economy. However, Sitharaman had also said that India's growth is better than many other countries.
