Bharti announced the launch of the Airtel 5G network in
India with indigenous technology. Airtel has joined hands with Tata Group

help of technology developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Airtel 5G network will be based on Make in India technology. Airtel and
Reliance Jio, the two largest companies in the telecom sector, will use
indigenous technology for 5G service in India.

Tata Group has developed 'O-RAN (Open Radio Access
Network) based radio and NSA/SA (non-standalone/standalone) core'. The group
has developed a completely indigenous telecom integrated by leveraging the
capabilities of the partners.
Airtel will launch a 5G service in India next year

Both Reliance and Airtel have started 5G network trials
at their respective levels. Airtel said that the Tata Group has developed
state-of-the-art technology based on Open-RAN (O-RAN).
Airtel will use this indigenous solution as a pilot
project as part of its 5 G-related plans in India. The company will start the
project in January next year as per the guidelines framed by the Government of
India.
Earlier this year, Airtel tested 5G network service
on its live network in Hyderabad.
The company has started 5G trials in major cities using
the spectrum allotted by the DoT. Recently 5G service was also tested in
the cyber city of Gurgaon.
Reliance Jio is trialing the 5G service using its
technology in Mumbai. Reliance Jio is currently testing the 5G service in
four telecom circles. For this, the company is taking the help of Ericsson in
Delhi and Nokia's technology in Pune.
Samsung's technology is being used in Gujarat. Reliance
can start 5G trials in Hyderabad too soon.
Tata Consultancy Services will provide global system
integration expertise," the statement said. Helps align end-to-end
solutions for both 3GPP and O-RAN standards.
Due to which networks and equipment are rapidly turning
into software. Airtel 5G network will launch indigenous solutions
projects in India as part of its 5G plans in January 2022.
